HUNAR is a women-focused social initiative by the Sambhava Foundation, designed to empower women aged 18-35 from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing skills training followed by placement support. Since its inception in 2014, the program has been operational in various locations across Delhi. The initiative aims to help women achieve economic independence by equipping them with the necessary skills to enter the workforce, ultimately fostering greater financial security and self-reliance in their lives.
The initiative seeks to empower women to achieve financial Independence by equipping them with the necessary skills for the textile sector (as Sewing Machine Operators and Quality Assistant). Participants will receive training designed to enhance their employability, and upon completion, they will secure employment and sustain long-termc careers, contributing to quality performance in the industry while supporting their economic empowerment.
It aims to bridge the gap between formal qualifications and practical teaching skills in local schools. The program provides targeted professional development, focusing on innovative strategies and continuous support to improve teaching quality, foster engaging learning environments, and empower both teachers and students for long-term success.
The project used a Social and Behavioral Change Communication strategy to reduce water wastage and empower children as agents of change. Additionally, the project will engage the mothers of these children as change makers, organizing monthly community meetings to raise awareness about water wastage and promote conservation practices.
